Nobel Prize Winner backs Kosovo Serbs

Published 25 Feb, 2008 20:32 | Updated 25 Feb, 2008 23:32

Russia’s once-exiled writer and Nobel Prize Winner Alexander Solzhenitsyn has written to the Serbs in Kosovo. Solzhenitsyn sent his greetings via a Serbian newspaper.

Solzhenitsyn called on Serbs not to leave the land that historically belonged to them.

“During recent years you went through devastation: Orthodox churches destroyed, Serbian schools burnt, people attacked and killed. God give you courage to stand by the graves of your beloved ones,” he stressed.
