Ambassadors from some of the countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which promotes solidarity among Muslim states, visited the Chechen capital Grozny on Tuesday to get a better idea of the situation in that Russian republic.

Members of the delegation said they were surprised at the changes in the Northern Caucasian republic, particularly the positive attitude towards Islam and the fast pace of economic development.

The Jordanian Ambassador to Moscow Abdelilah Mohamed Ali Al Kurdi said Islamic states are interested in developing closer ties with the region.

“Islamic states are interested in close co-operation with Russia. We stay informed about progressive political and economic processes going on in the Chechen Republic. We are glad that stability in the republic has been achieved so quickly,” said a Jordanian diplomat.

Dato Kamarudin Mustafa, Malaysia's ambassador to Russia, in his exclusive interview with RT spoke about what has changed and is changing in the Chechen Republic.
