Police die in Chechnya ambush

Seven members of a special police group died and one was hurt in a road ambush three kilometres from the settlement of Dair in Shatoy district of the Chechen Republic in the Northern Caucasus.

Their vehicle was shot at and blown up returning to its post after a mission.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
