The Russian Prosecutor General, Yury Chaika, has confirmed the murder case of journalist Anna Politkovskaya has been solved. Mr Chaika did not name the suspects but said the case would soon be transferred to court.
“The case has been solved. The investigation is still going on, but when it's finished the case will be given to the court. We are working in close co-operation with our colleagues from Ukraine and Latvia. So it's only a matter of time until it goes to court,” Chaika stressed on Tuesday.
Anna Politkovskaya was shot dead last October in her Moscow apartment building. Ten people have been arrested since the investigation into the murder started. Last month a Chechen official was charged as an accomplice in organizing the killing.
