Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticized the West for clinging to its influence in the Arab world under the guise of “humanitarian operations.” He dubbed western involvement in Arab affairs as the export of “rocket and bomb democracy.”

At a meeting with top Russian diplomats Putin said that certain countries will do anything to retain the influence they have become accustomed to in the Arab world.

He stressed that western nations often adopt a one-sided policy in Arab affairs that violates international law.

“We must do everything in our power to coerce the opposing forces in the Syrian conflict into coming to a peaceful solution,” underlined the Russian President.

Citing the importance of an active dialogue in Syria, he said “this is, of course, a more complicated and delicate task than just barreling in with military intervention.”

Putin added that only a diplomatic solution could lead to long-term peace and stability in the region.

Russia opposes any resolution to the Syrian conflict that stipulates the removal of President Assad, maintaining the political future of the nation is the prerogative of the Syrian people.

At a summit of UN countries in Geneva last week, diplomats agreed on the adoption of UN envoy to Syria Kofi Annan’s new plan for a unified transition government in Syria.

The plan states that the unity government should include elements of the opposition, but exclude political figures that put the stability of Syria in jeopardy.

Russia agrees with the plan, although Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claims some western nations have distorted the wording of the plan to push for Assad’s forced removal.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton claims the document specifically calls for the ouster of President Bashar al-Assad.

If we don’t have Russia by Putin and China: long ago Americans and Israel would be fighting everybody in the Middle East. Now also Iran is stronger then many never thought about it. The world is divided and it’s good this way. USA at home not that good either US have spend too much money and at home the people using food stamps to eat , but I already read very soon no more money and have to cut the help. Back in Syria that isn’t revolution because many terrorists from more than six countries are there: and I read again 200 English paratroops already there too, with a pretest og trying to get chemical weapons, also militias from England too. That means that war never going to be settle with peace, until all foreigners get out, and even is there the Elite of CIA USA Al Qaeda which have killing many civilians for the propaganda work in the West, like now found 200 civilians and blame on the Syria army. Why so much hate with so much laying for the excuses to invaded Syria. I believe Putin have doing real good of not get involve in the action, only giving weapons. Turkey having 150 thousand troops in the border of Syria, and have been instigated by Obama and Hilarious Hillary discussion of invade Syria. I would like Russia or Putin to pay attention please! I’m sure Iraq are friends now with Iran: would be nice Iraq let Iran troops going through help Syria, and if Turkey attack Iran in Syria, get them  from behind across the border too. Turkey having problems with Kurds in two fronts, and Iran let the own Kurds joined the others to fight against Turkey. Do not forget be around forty million of Kurds between Iran, Iraq, Syria, and in Turkey it the most of them, and turkey lose. Russia should talk to all those countries to give autonomy to Kurds to make a baffle zone into aggressive countrie s, and make a free Kurdistan. Even so if going to be a big war and doing to Kurds such freedom; their will stay against west.  27/08/2012! By A.Oscar.

The Paradox Named Hillary C (unregistered) 18.07.2012 12:26

Hillary C is no diplomat.  She is a neocon warmonger.  And she behaves and talk as though she is the President.  How the heck did she get into that job?

it must really bother you that bush was right.  The single most important part of a revolution is youth.  Did bush see it coming?  Probably not since he wasn't all the smart.  Did Cheney see it coming?  I think he and Holbrooke were both hoping that invading Iraq would be one more straw on the camel's back.  It seems to have worked out that way and now the dictators and tyrants are falluing one by one.  It was said from the onset that some arab countries would become new freinds and some new enemies but that if the dictators all ended then the balance would be positive.

man , it must really chafe you that Bush was right.
