Published: 21 April, 2007, 06:50

Indian Navy ships have arrived in Vladivostok in Russia's Far East. They are expected to take part in a joint Russian-Indian military exercise. The forces will practice protecting shipping against terrorists and how to counter poaching.

The exercise commemorates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

It is the first time Indian sailors have been to Vladivostok and the city has organised a celebration of Indian culture.
