Russian coal mines put on ice

Work has been suspended in 33 coal mines across Russia. It follows the fatal blast in Ulyanovskaya mine in the Kuznetsk Basin, on March 19, which killed more than 100 people.
The decision to suspend work was taken by Rostekhnadzor, The Russian Federal Ecological, Technical and Atomic Supervisory Service, after a series of examinations were carried out.The suspension will last for five days.
