Russian diplomat killed in Burundi

Burundi security forces shot dead a Russian diplomat on Saturday after he drove through a checkpoint, according to Reuters news agency,
Burundian army spokesman said the diplomat was told to stop by soldiers south of Bujumbura, the capital of , but reportedly forced his way through.
The soldiers opened fire at his car and he was hit.
The spokesman also claimed a woman who was in the car, was thrown from the vehicle before the incident.
