A group of Russian scientists has set off on an expedition to sail around the Arctic on a simple raft. Built in the Polynesian style of three hulls, the vessel turned out to be easy to navigate and reliable even in the treacherous northern waters.
After undergoing some improvements, the raft will become home to the scientists for four months of the expedition. During that time it will travel almost 7,000 KM.
The rafts' team is also going to lay wreaths on the spot where a previous Russian arctic expedition ship sunk.
