Berezovsky claims that he was under pressure when he sold his shares in the Sibneft oil company, aluminium giant Rusal and Russia’s television channel ORT, during the years 2000 to 2003.
Abramovich has responded by saying that the case is not under the jurisdiction of British law, as he is not legally a British resident.
The case could set a legal precedent for others who claim they were stripped of assets in Russia.
