Sharapova wins her first 2007 title

The world number 2 has clinched victory at the San Diego Open with a 3-set win over Patty Schnyder.
There was little sign on the Californian court of her shoulder injury that had plagued Sharapova for the past couple of months.
The 20-year-old stormed back from a second set defeat to see out the decisive set to love
6-2, 3-6, 6-0 was the final score and with the final grand slam of the year, the U.S. Open coming, up at the end of the month it's not a bad time to be getting back to top form.
“Well, this is the whole lead up to the U.S. Open. Last year I won here and went to the the U.S. Open, so hopefully it is going to be the same. But I am definitely looking forward to it. I have had a great week after battling with injuries and other things, you know, this puts a big smile on my face,” said Maria Sharapova.
