Chinese emergency teams are rescuing a distressed vessel off the Chinese coast with 27 crew members on board, among them citizens of Russia, India and Philippines.
RIA Novosti's correspondent in Beijing, Aleksey Efimov, says the rescue effort is being hampered by bad weather conditions.
“Rescuers in East China are making efforts to rescue a Hong Kong-registered cargo ship which has 27 international crew members aboard who include sailors from Russia, India and the Philippines. However, the rescue ship has failed to approach the cargo ship because of the typhoon. Currently the ship is reported to be in no danger of sinking,” Aleksey Efimov reported.
