In Colombia the authorities have seized 30 kilogrammes of uranium from a Marxist guerrilla stronghold, just south of the capital Bogota.
It's the first time nuclear material has been involved in the ongoing conflict between the Government and FARC terrorists.
Experts say the guerrillas were probably aiming to sell the uranium on the black market.
It is not yet determined where the uranium came from.
Columbian government said they were led the cache by information found in computer files left behind by top guerrilla leader Raul Reyes, who was killed in an air bomb strike in neighbouring Ecuador on March 1.
