Den of terror: Toulouse killer’s post-raid apartment (VIDEO)

A video depicting the ravaged apartment where Toulouse terrorist Mohamed Merah met his bloody end has been released to the media.

The tense 32-hour standoff between Merah and some 300 French police officers in the five-story building in the neighborhood of Cote Pavee came to a dramatic conclusion on Thursday after elite forces stormed the apartment and were greeted with a hail of gunfire. The video shows the bullet ridden walls, wrecked furniture and scattered debris left in the wake of the attack. The fifteen elite French police officers tasked with defusing the crisis described the bedlam that ensued as Merah charged the officers with guns blazing.Merah, a French citizen of Algerian origin who claimed to have been trained by Al-Qaeda, killed four people at a Jewish school and three French soldiers in a series of attacks that spanned 10 days. The 23-year-old gunman managed to unload some 30 rounds from three Colt 45s before being shot in the head by a sniper.During negotiations prior to the final siege, Merah showed no remorse for the killings which claimed the lives of three children. His only regret was “that he did not have the time to reach more victims.”
