Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has declared a state of emergency in the flooded areas in the west of the country. Storms and severe flooding have killed 25 people, including six children, and left thousands homele
Heavy rain in Ukraine, which started last week, has caused the Prut and Dniestr rivers to overflow.
Flooding has affected more than 40,000 homes and damaged farmland and roads.
Over 15,000 people have been evacuated from the region.
