UN blasts Israel over Gaza massacre

The UN Security Council is holding a closed emergency session in New York to discuss the latest Israeli attacks on Gaza.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the air strikes and called for an immediate end to the violence.
Riyad Mansour, a UN Palestinian observer, said there was no justification for Israel’s actions.
“This collective punishment is inhumane, immoral and should be stopped immediately,” he said.
Consultations started behind closed doors at 10pm New York time.
