The United States has indicted alleged arms dealer Viktor Bout who is currently in prison in Thailand. He is accused of, among other things, selling weapons to Colombian FARC rebels.
The U.S. now has until June 7 to submit the correct documents to a Thai court to have him extradited.
Bout’s defence had argued that he should be released now because he’s been in detention for 60 days already.
However the Thai court found that the 60 days – prescribed by the law for filing extradition documents – started on April 9, when Thai authorities withdrew their own charges.
