World Bank gives Russia low marks for democracy

Political stability, government effectiveness and the rule of law have all deteriorated in Russia since 2002. That is according to a study by the World Bank.
In their report the researchers analyzed indicators in 212 countries around the world.
While they conclude that a number of African countries are making significant progress, Russia has improved only in the category of corruption control.
It ranks among states like India and Myanmar in terms of political stability.
Germany, by comparison, is among the top quarter of countries in all six democracy categories.
