World community pushes North Korea on talks

UN Security Council members will not go ahead with a vote on sanctions against North Korea.

Both Japan and the United States have suggested sanctions could be avoided if North Korea agreed to return to six-nation talks on its missile programme. A Chinese delegation is visiting Pyongyang as a delegation from Pyongyang is in Beijing.  China’s foreign ministry said it was making “assiduous efforts” to push North Korea into talks.
