Mikhail Margelov, Chairman of the Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee, spoke to RT about Putin's two terms in office and Russia's place in the modern world.

“I think today for the first time ever Russia is facing a new task in its nation building. We are creating a democratic sovereign nation state, but not an empire. We learned how to be an empire under the tsars and under the Bolsheviks, and this is not an efficient model to run such a huge and complex country as Russia,” Margelov thinks.
