Dmitry Medvedev’s speech at the meeting of the US Council on Foreign Relations was impressive, according to Tom Brokaw, member of the board of directors of the Council on Foreign Relations.
“I think everybody was very impressed with his candour. It’s one thing to give prepared remarks but then he was very good with the questions and answers. He understands and we all understand how we’re all in this together with the global economic architecture, and he said backstage before we came out that he was very happy with the agreement reached today and they have an action plan and it went well beyond what he expected it too. I think Madeleine Albright said exactly the right thing at the end: two young men, two countries facing common problems now, economically and socially, and we are to be thinking much less about weapon systems and much more about improving lives.”
