The Russian President has recorded the latest installment of his video blog while flying home from a landmark four-nation tour of Latin America.
Dmitry Medvedev said Russia had “not paid adequate attention to it in recent years. And I’d say we were wrong to do so.”
He said the southern part of the American continent was a “rapidly developing region, where serious intellectual and natural resources are concentrated. And most importantly, people in this region are willing to develop cooperation with Russia.”
Hailing the trip as a success, Medvedev said he and his team “were able to restore or even to reestablish ties with those nations with which we didn’t have such relations. This is particularly important now when there are serious problems with security in the world in general,” he said.
