North Korea rattles nuclear sabre

North Korea has threatened to conduct nuclear and missile tests following the UN's criticism of the country's rocket launch earlier this month.
Pyongyang says it will be compelled to take measures for self-defense if the UN Security Council doesn’t apologize immediately.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry has said it will study the information on North Korea and then comment.
“Several hours ago initial reports to this effect began to come in. We expect to receive such information from trustworthy sources. In that case we will be able to study it and comment on it. As of this moment, the answer I would limit myself to is: first to study and then comment,” ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko told reporters.
Meanwhile the South Korean Foreign Minister has called on its northern neighbour to stop “the activity that threatens peace”, follow the UN’s directives and return to six-party talks.
The UN denounced the launch and called for tougher sanctions after North Korea launched what it said was a satellite.
North Korea responded by declaring that it would resume its nuclear programme.
Pyongyang conducted its first atomic tests three years ago.
