First and foremost South Ossetia needs to have a viable economy, says Irina Kobrinskaya a political analyst from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations.

“To develop its economy, South Ossetia needs major investment and good management, which it doesn’t have. It needs effective institutions and managers and to develop democracy in the proper sense of the word."
