The Russian Armed Forces are ready to retaliate to any threat to national security, and will not rule out using nuclear weapons, General Nikolay Makarov, head of the Russian General Staff, said on Wednesday.
"If there is a threat to the integrity of the Russian Federation, we are entitled to use nuclear weapons,” Makarov said in an interview with the Ekho Moskvy radio station.
Stressing that Russia’s nuclear deterrent remains the primary prerequisite for strategic stability, Makarov says the Russian Armed Forces will not cut corners.
"As regards our nuclear forces, we invest the allocated funding up to the last kopek,” Russia’s top military commander said. “We are working very seriously to upgrade our nuclear potential.”
Makarov then provided a glimpse at Russia’s shopping list for state-of-the-art military hardware.
In particular, the country’s Defense Ministry is purchasing new-generation underwater nuclear missile carriers, planning to renew and upgrade its strategic bombers, and introducing new missile systems, including Yars, for Russian Strategic Missile Troops, he said.
Makarov went on to recall that even during its darkest economic moments, Russia always provided the necessary funds for maintaining and developing its strategic nuclear forces.
"We have sufficient funds to implement the state armament program for the period until 2020,” he said. “The problem is that the national defense sector is sometimes unable to meet our demand.”
Makarov also noted that efforts are being made to develop general purpose forces. Nuclear weapons, he admitted, cannot take the place of a well-trained army.
"Unfortunately, we are facing threats from a number of unstable states, where not nuclear weapons but well-trained, strong and mobile armed forces may be required to resolve any conflict situation," the General noted.
He also mentioned that battling NATO as a whole would not be an aim Russia would pursue.
"[Russia] is not going to fight against the entire NATO," he said. "We do not have such goals and objectives.”

Russian political system needs more space – MedvedevPresident Dmitry Medvedev has admitted that Russian democracy is “young”, “troubled” and needs to be improved. However, it is still a democracy with all the distinctive features, he said. |
The US military-industrial complex is thrilled to hear this. They have succeeded in ensuring that US foreign policy continues to fuel their obscene profits. It's not about sowing the seeds of war, but rather, sowing the seeds of love. The greatest love of all in the entire universe: MONEY. Making war IS making love when you add a twist to logic (go ask Alice).
Nuclear weapons aren't gonna solve every security concern. Makarov says "The Russian Armed Forces are ready to retaliate to any threat to national security, and will not rule out using nuclear weapons". So does that mean they'd use them if there was another Chechen War? You can't use nuclear weapons against guerilla warfare. That would be extremely ineffective and it would do more harm than good. It would mean basically wiping out a whole city. During the Cold War, neither the United States or the Soviet Union pointed nuclear weapons at cities or civilian targets, the weapons were pointed against military targets. But this is different, I'm talking about guerilla warfare. It's harder to fight than conventional war. Nukes won't help. Would nukes be the answer for us Americans in Afghanistan? Of course not. I think it's only ok to use nuclear weapons in retaliation against a nuclear or massive biological attack or if your country's existense was threatened (like with Israel's case). I'm not talking about a simple security, I'm talking about a country being about to cease to exist.
"[Russia] is not going to fight against the entire NATO," he said. "We do not have such goals and objectives.”
Good, I hope he really means it. I'm keeping my cool. I don't see a reason to go to war with Russia. So for those of you Russians on here who are worried, just chill. If we didn't attack your country during the Cold War, then what makes you think we'd do it now? NATO is not trying to encircle Russia. Any country in Europe has the right to join, and that includes Russia. There's still requirements for prospective applicants. There's even been mention in the United States and some fellow NATO countries of Russia joining. So if we've offered you guys to join, then that means we don't want to hurt you. NATO would be crazy to carry out an attack. Where would Europe get their natural gas then?

Russia and China do not have the vast numbers of advanced conventional weapon platforms to fight USA in a head-head global fight for any extended time. Both are rightly set-up to use Nuclear Weapons early on in such a global conflict.
However this opens the door for US/Israel to perform various utterly Satanically evil acts which are seen or felt to be short of triggering a nuclear response.
Meanwhile the US Pentagon entirely corrupted by Satanically evil Zionists have pushed their playbook to cyberattacks to trigger a US Military response as well as Apartheid Israel's False Flag attacks meaning virtually anything is now construed by the Satanically evil Zionists corruption of the US Gov. to result in a US Military response.
Thankfully Russian President Putin is once again back in office and has repeatedly proven to have the strength, courage and moral fortitude to stand up against depraved US/Israeli actions such as those US/Israeli military advisers behind the Georgia attack on multiple South Ossetian CIVILIAN city blocks killing hundreds, wounding many more by their artillery barrages DURING the Chinese Summer Olympics Games!
Russia, China should work together to immediately supply Iran with as many S-300 anti-aircraft and anti-cruise missile battery's as they can scrape together and export immediately to Iran to saturate Iran's military complexes and Iran's civilian officials.
