Communication between the Soviet troops and the Afghan army during the fight against the Mujaheddin in the 1979-1989 war was very difficult, war veteran General Aleksandr Chubarov recalls.
It often happened that the Afghan soldiers simply ignored orders and did not fulfill the tasks they were supposed to carry out.
