(2.6Mb) embed videoCzech president Vaclav Klaus, who is widely known as a Eurosceptic, has put his pen to the EU’s Lisbon Treaty agreement.
The document paves the way for the streamlining of the Union's decision making process.
This removes the last hurdle to a united Europe and comes just hours after a court rejected a complaint about the agreement.
The Lisbon Treaty has now been approved by all 27 member states and it is hoped will transform Europe into a more influential global player.
The end of the ratification is expected to speed up the signing of a new strategic partnership between Russia and the EU.

Russia marks newest holiday, the Day of National UnityRussia is celebrating the Day of National Unity. People all over the country are singing songs, dancing and flying big balloons in the air. Nationalists and anti-nationalists have staged marches in the capital. |
If it is to be united really, Europe needs a single language. To be fair to everyone and also bring back to life a unique culture, I say Latin should be considered as that single language. If stared today, in one generation Europe could really be united.. and thinking intellegently and with one mind. What do you think?

Last night my Russian wife asked me when the election for the President of Europe would be. I had to tell her it would be an unelected position . She expressed great surprise at this. Maybe Mr. Putin had a very valid point a little while back when he told the British Government it had no place lecturing him about democracy.
