Zidane’s legendary head butt cast in bronze
It's probably not the first thing you would think of to be cast in bronze, but Zinedine Zidane's notorious head butt in the 2006 World Cup final has been immortalized in France.
A five-meter high statue was unveiled in front of the Pompidou Centre of Contemporary Art in Paris.Titled ‘Head butt’ it depicts the famous challenge by France football legend Zidane on Italy’s Marco Materazzi late in the Berlin final.Zidane was sent off following the incident, and the game turned out to be his last for the Blues, while Italy went on to win on penalties. The 40-year-old later apologized for his action though his fans believe this head-butt won't overshadow the rest of his illustrious career.
