​Value of dialogue Ft. Walter Schwimmer, Secretary-General of Council of Europe (1999-2004)

The European dream of peace, prosperity and tolerance has been shaken up in recent years by the financial crisis, regional conflicts and populism. And while dialogue remains one of Europe’s core values, few groups seem to be interested in it, both domestically and abroad. How can we ensure that peaceful means of conflict resolution prevail in an environment increasingly taken to violence? And how much value is there in dialogue if your opponents are unwilling to talk? Oksana is joined by Walter Schwimmer, former secretary-general of the Council of Europe and co-chairman of the World Public Forum - Dialogue of Civilizations, to resolve these issues.
