AGREED. As indicated, Russia learned a war in the 1980's was virtually impossible to win unless there was a desire to bomb the country out of existance. America, and the UN, need to remove all military operations to a corner of the country if there is a reason for us to be there. I feel the lives of our military, which we respect, are more important than anything that can be accomplished by staying in an impossible situation in that forsaken country.

There is never a solution to any conflict to sort out by fighting and have young soldiers being slaughtered every day. It does not matter who get killed they are all human beings. All sides should find a way to sit around a table. Efforts should be made to settle. Russia never won and USA had bad experience in Vietnam before . You cannot fight the enemy in their home land.
