"Long predicted" - you might say the collapse of the Soviet Union was long predicted .. probably for decades depending on who you listen to. The winding down of the Union was orchestrated from both an economic and political perspective, and so overall it was pretty orderly and bloodless. That of course means that the groups in power are more or less the same as those of the previous era, but because the rules changed,

So the EU collapse was likewise predicted, but it is not a genuine crisis of inefficiency and mismanagement at every level leading to poor productivity and eventual bankruptcy. Peter is right about the problem of having a single economic zone without a single political body to manage the region. The banks were behind the Euro from the start, and this is part of their plan. They are going to let the politicians squirm and the public get desperate enough so that they will willingly accept the phasing in of a new political system across Europe. People who still talk as though politicians are independent minded people who make decisions for the national interest are beyond funny.

Robert Oulds is a credit to democracy and freedom. And not frightened to say the truth, and defend the countries of Europe against what can only be described as plot against decent peoples and cultures of Europe.
